Modeling Dike Propagation in Both Vertical Length and Horizontal Breadth

چکیده
We present analog experiments on dike propagation, followed by a numerical model of horizontal and vertical growth, which is partially analytical based empirical observations. Experimental results show that the growth rates are similar until buoyancy becomes significant and, afterward, dominates. The defined for different conditions in homogeneous medium: (a) constant flux, fracture-limited propagation; (b) viscous-limited (c) variable flux dependent driving pressure dimensions. These distinguish between cases when influx depends deeper source magma (e.g., conduit, independent geometry) it dike, so can change as grows. In all cases, ratio to propagation proportional pressure, drives propagation. test dikes observed at Piton de la Fournaise, dimensions were estimated using geodetic seismic data. final be reproduced magma-crust density differences 50–300 kg/m3, viscosities 30–300 Pa·s, influxes 50–750 m3/s shear moduli ?10 GPa. modeled host rock parameters agree with previous studies volcano, while higher than what typically during eruption. This implies injection condition, peaks diminishes onset

Automatic Mashup Creation by Considering both Vertical and Horizontal Mashabilities
In this paper, we proposed a system to effectively create music mashups – a kind of re-created music that is made by mixing parts of multiple existing music pieces. Unlike previous studies which merely generate mashups by overlaying music segments on one single base track, the proposed system creates mashups with multiple background (e.g. instrumental) and lead (e.g. vocal) track segments. So, ...
متن کاملVertical and Horizontal Alignment
The writers of this paper see the current highway design standards as a two-dimensional projection which the horizontal and vertical alignments are treated separately. A model developed in this paper considers and study the sight distance as a three-dimensional alignment on the design requirements. The paper examines the required minimum radius of a horizontal curve combined with a crest or sag...
متن کاملEffective Vertical Modes and Horizontal Rays for Wave Propagation in Complex Inhomogeneous Ducts
Wave propagation in complex inhomogeneous, quasi-layered, 3D media is addressed using multires-olution analysis (MRA). The complexity is characterized by a fast, nely structured, variation of the system heterogeneity in the vertical (stratiication) direction, and a slow horizontal variation of the system heterogene-ity and/or the vertical boundaries (\fast" and \slow" here are relative to the w...
متن کاملThe influence of vision on sound localization abilities in both the horizontal and vertical planes
Numerous recent reports have suggested that individuals deprived of vision are able to develop heightened auditory spatial abilities. However, most such studies have compared the blind to blindfolded sighted individuals, a procedure that might introduce a strong performance bias. Indeed, while blind individuals have had their whole lives to adapt to this condition, sighted individuals might be ...
متن کاملA resolution comparison of horizontal and vertical magnetic transfer functions
The main goal of the present study is to identify characteristics of the inter-station horizontal magnetic responses and the vertical magnetic data, as two types of magnetotelluric transfer functions, in the modeling procedure. Through consideration of model responses and two-dimensional inversion of synthetic data, sensitivity of the data components in detecting different geophysical structure...
